Each month, we feature a few of our staff members as a way for you to get to know the good folks who make up our community. This month, we feature three staff who all have long histories with the Farm.
Beth Reiter (she/her)
Per-Diem Residential and Nursing Office Staff
Beth's journey with Gould Farm began in 2003 as a summer volunteer—a serendipitous twist of fate that shaped her life and career. From her early days in the kitchen to her current roles as residential and nursing office per-diem staff, Beth has found inspiration in Gould Farm’s welcoming community and holistic approach to wellness. After a few years away, Beth returned to the Farm with her family, drawn back by its enduring beauty, shared purpose, and the connections that define this unique community. Devora Steinmtz, PhD (she/her)
Forestry and Grounds Volunteer
Since 2012, Devora Steinmetz has volunteered on Gould Farm’s Forestry and Grounds team, bringing her love of hands-on work and community connection to tasks like trail maintenance, maple syrup production, and teaching guests to split wood. A scholar of Jewish studies and published author, Devora finds balance in her time at the Farm, where outdoor work and simple community moments offer a powerful contrast to her academic life in New York City. With a decades-long appreciation for Gould Farm’s unique approach to recovery and inclusion, Devora continues to be inspired by the timeless values that unite work, nature, and healing.
