Phyllis Vine, PhD

Board Chair

Phyllis Vine is a journalist and historian, and former college professor who has been writing about mental health policy and social activism for forty years. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, and her MPH at Columbia University, and for many years taught at Sarah Lawrence College before she resigned to more actively pursue research and writing. She is a co-author of one book, author of three, and her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Ms., Slate, Progressive, The Nation, Extra!, City Limits, as well as peer-reviewed journals. Phyllis discovered Gould Farm when researching options for a recovery-oriented treatment program for a family member, and has been on the Board since 2011. Recently, with her husband, she moved from Hastings on Hudson, New York, to West Stockbridge, Mass., to enjoy retirement — or quasi-retirement -- in the Berkshires. She is a proud parent (of two adults and their families), and grandmother (of one).

Kim Bradley

Vice Chair

Kim has served as a Director of Gould Farm since mid-2015 and participates in the Building and Grounds and Finance committees. A native of Tucson, Arizona, Kim served in Cameroon as a Peace Corps volunteer and consulted with USAID on a Cameroon project following his undergraduate studies. After returning to the US for graduate school, Kim’s career had been primarily overseas, including 15 years in Europe as a professional in Goldman Sach’s Real Estate Principal Investments and Realty Management divisions. Kim has also served as an executive at GE Capital for seven years in the United States and Europe and worked in commercial banking for several years. Since leaving corporate life, Kim’s international activities have included serving as an Independent Director of the BGEO Group PLC and Georgia Capital PLC, public companies located in Tbilisi, Georgia. Kim holds an MA in International Affairs from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Arizona. Kim and his wife have two adult daughters and live in Tyringham.

Sheila Rosenstein, JD

Clerk, Chair Governance

Ms. Rosenstein was born in 1946 and grew up in the town of Windsor Locks, Connecticut. She attended the Windsor Locks public schools. Ms. Rosenstein obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Barnard College in 1968 and a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School in 1971. After law school, Ms. Rosenstein married, moved to Connecticut and had a child. Ms. Rosenstein was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1981 and began several years of general practice. Subsequently, she specialized in family cases with complex issues. Ms. Rosenstein closed her practice in 2015 and retired to Great Barrington, Massachusetts. She became an Associate in 2014, a Member of the Board of Directors in 2015 and Clerk of the Corporation in 2016.

Phil Morrison, MBA

Treasurer

A native of Maine, Phil has a long history with Gould Farm, arriving as a work leader in 1988 after serving in the Peace Corps in Senegal. Following seven years of living and working at the Farm, Phil returned to the Peace Corps, this time serving in Lesotho. After a four-year period when he was an investment advisor, Phil returned to school, earning his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, and started a new career in non-profit fiscal management, first in theater, healthcare, and then higher education. Since 2017 Phil has served as the Director of Finance & Administration at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, where he manages the Business Office, Human Resources, Physical Plant, Information Technology, Dining Services, and the Kilpatrick Athletic Center. When he is not at work, Phil enjoys spending time with his grown children and puttering around on his small farm in neighboring Tyringham.
