Last year, our community reached a significant milestone. With a record 220 participants and 19 teams, the 5K Walk-Run raised more than $50,000. This support came from 259 individual donations and the help of underwriters like Steve Schwartz, Greylock Federal Credit Union, and Windrows Farm. It was our biggest event yet!
On Sunday, May 31, 2026, we return to the loop! Our goal is to raise $60,000 for the Gould Farm Community Fund. This fund is the practical backbone of our mission; it provides the financial assistance that ensures our recovery programs remain accessible to guests regardless of their financial situation.
The Course: 3.1 miles of rolling farmland
The 5K (3.1-mile) course is a multi-terrain loop through the 700-acre Gould Farm campus in Monterey. The route follows a mix of paved and dirt roads, crossing a few small brooks, and passing by beautiful fields. It is a scenic, shaded, and beautiful route, open to both runners and walkers. Here’s a video preview of the whole route!

How to Register
There are two ways to sign up for the 2026 event:
Online Registration (Recommended): Visit the event page to register as an individual or start a team. This allows you to set up your fundraising page immediately and track your progress, and participate from anywhere!
In-Person Registration: If you prefer to sign up on the day of the event, you can do so at the registration table on the morning of May 31st. Please arrive early to check in before the start.
Momentum is Already Building
We are already seeing the first wave of supporters getting started. You can check out the public leaderboard on our site to see the full list and support participants. Watching these totals climb is a great reminder that every dollar contributes to a much larger impact for our guests.
Fundraising: How to Support the Mission
Fundraising doesn’t have to be complicated or feel like a sales pitch. It’s simply about sharing why the Farm’s work matters to you and inviting people to join in.
For Individual Fundraisers: The Direct Approach
Share Your "Why": Use your AKARaisin page to write a brief note about your connection to the Farm. Whether you are a neighbor, a parent, or an alum, an honest message is the most effective way to engage donors.
Small, Specific Asks: Asking a few people directly for $20 is often more successful than one mass social media post. It feels personal and manageable for the donor.
Self-Sponsor: Making the first donation to your own page shows your commitment and gives your campaign immediate momentum.
For Team Fundraising: A Shared Effort
Teams are a great way for families, coworkers, or affinity groups to support the Farm together.
The Power of Five: If a team of five people each finds five donors to give $20, your team reaches a $500 milestone. Shared effort makes a large goal attainable.
Team Identity: From "The Harvest Barners" to "Monterey Neighbors," picking a name that reflects your group adds a sense of community to the event.
Let's Hit the Ground Running
Whether you're aiming for a personal best on the course or just looking for a morning walk with the community, your presence matters. Every registration and every "ask" to a friend helps keep the Farm's doors open to everyone who needs a place to recover.
Let’s see if we can break another record this year! Grab your sneakers, call a few friends, and let's get to work.
