Tanveer Ahmed, M.D. (she/her)

Consulting Psychiatrist

Dr. Tanveer Ahmed is a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in both adult and adolescent psychiatry. She joined Gould Farm in 2024 as a consulting psychiatrist, where she works directly with guests to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic support.

Dr. Ahmed completed her psychiatry residency at The George Washington University in 2005, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital training program affiliated with Columbia and Cornell Universities. She holds board certification in psychiatry and neurology, re-certified in 2017, and is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and New York.

With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ahmed has worked across a wide range of settings, including private practice, community mental health, telemedicine, and academic institutions. Since 2020, she has served as a consultant psychiatrist for Bard College at Simon's Rock, providing mental health care for students. She has also been a staff psychiatrist at the Brien Center, a telemedicine psychiatrist for Doctor on Demand, and provided psychiatric care at multiple organizations dedicated to marginalized populations, including the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBTQ youth.

Dr. Ahmed's clinical expertise is complemented by her commitment to innovative treatments. She recently completed training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in 2023, enhancing her ability to offer advanced therapeutic modalities to patients.

Her international experience includes working as a consultant psychiatrist for the Maori Mental Health Team in Auckland, New Zealand, where she provided psychiatric care and education to Maori communities, integrating both psychopharmacological and therapeutic approaches.

Dr. Ahmed is dedicated to holistic, person-centered psychiatric care, drawing on her diverse experiences to support the mental health and well-being of Gould Farm guests.
