Transition Program

Katie Burden (she/her)

Social Worker

Katie joined Gould Farm after relocating to Massachusetts from Vancouver, British Columbia,
where she worked as a Registered Clinical Counsellor in community mental health and private
practice. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and art therapy from Adler
University and has worked with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a range of life
challenges.

Katie’s clinical approach is relational, experiential, and trauma-informed. She is particularly
interested in the ways that meaningful activity, creativity, connection, and a sense of belonging
can support mental health and recovery.

Katie first came to Gould Farm as a volunteer, where she worked alongside guests in the bakery
and facilitated creative and wellness activities including weaving, natural dyeing, yoga, and art-
making. That experience gave her an opportunity to see Gould Farm’s model in practice and
deepened her appreciation for an approach to mental health care that extends beyond the therapy
room. She was particularly drawn to Gould Farm’s focus on community and its celebration of the
strengths and individuality of each person.

Outside of work, she enjoys making art, being outdoors, visiting museums, seeing theater, and
seeking out places where human creativity is on display.
