Clinical Support
Our on-site clinical staff includes two consulting psychiatrists, a registered nurse, a nursing assistant, a clinical director, a transition counselor and three social workers. We provide psychiatric evaluations, individual and group counseling, medication monitoring and coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Each guest is assigned a member of the Clinical Team (an experienced, master's-level clinician) who will walk beside him or her through his or her stay at the Farm. Our therapists provide one-on-one therapy, case management and coaching as they support a strength-based recovery program, from orientation to discharge planning.
Clinicians are in constant collaboration with the Residential and Work teams and provide guidance to all staff to support each individual's recovery. The integration of the program ensures a comprehensive treatment process.
The sense of self-worth generated through the work program and the increased capacities provided by living in community are the foundations of our therapeutic work. The clinical program provides many forms of therapy, as guests progress through the stages of treament at the Farm. Cognitive behavioral and psycho-educational techniques, in addition to psycho-dynamic and recovery oriented therapies are each used in relation to individualized treatment planning.
Medications are prescribed by our psychiatrist, held in the nursing office and distributed on schedule. At the appropriate time, guests prepare their own medication packages and, when they are ready, hold the medication in a locked box in their room. The nursing office is also where guests can receive on-Farm first aid, while full medical services are coordinated off the Farm, in the local community.
Guests begin planning for transition and a greater level of independence when stabilization and symptoms permit. Planning meetings take place regularly and include evaluating the progress of their goals, planning for transition and increasing their level of independence. When appropriate, family members can be invited to these meetings.
