Gould Farm welcomes referrals from mental health professionals and families of prospective guests.
Admission Criteria
- Adults 18 years and older
- Diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depression or other major mental illness
- May have secondary diagnosis of substance dependency in remission with an ability to contract for abstinence.
- Not actively suicidal or at risk of harm to self or others; not exhibiting severe antisocial or psychopathic behavior.
- Able to stay safe in an open structured rural environment
- Willing to participate in the work program and comply with house rules
- Medication compliance when appropriate
Gould Farm is available at the maximum rate of $235 per day to families willing to support a voluntary stay for a family member who is appropriate for the program. Gould Farm can grant financial assistance in the form of a rate reduction to any family willing to disclose income information and meet the financial eligibility requirements.

We will be happy to answer your questions about Gould Farm and help make an initial assessment about the appropriateness of the Gould Farm program for a prospective guest. The
Physician’s Referral Form is important to the admissions process and can be downloaded or mailed to you. If it appears there is potential for us to work together, we can arrange for a tour, interview and/or a two week evaluation visit. If Gould Farm does not appear to be a likely match, we will try to make other suggestions. If you wish to apply for financial assistance, you may download the
